Grateful

Daddy, You have done so much for me.

Before You even created this world, You thought of me.

With great love and attention to detail, You fashioned me in my mother's womb.

You knew the day I would be born, when I would take my first steps, and when I would utter my first words.

As I grew, You continued to show me favor - You provided me with loving protection from my family and a dear friend in my baby sister.

As I became older, You taught me valuable lessons. You showed me the joy of laughter, friendship, and community. I also experienced my first frustrations and sorrows. You revealed the lesson within these circumstances.

With time, I began learning who was the source of all the good things in my life.

You sought me out, captivated me with Your love, and promised to walk by my side.

As I matured, You continued to shower me with love and whisper in my ear all Your wonderful thoughts about me.

Even when I found the ways of the world tempting, Your feelings towards me never changed.

When I cried out, You were there to wrap me in your arms. With each new life lesson, victory, or defeat, You were there.

You blessed me and I felt Your loving favor, though not because of my own merit. You call me Your daughter and clothe me with righteousness that can not fade.

You are in me, and You desire to work with me and through me. My life will continue to be a beautiful partnership with You, because You are for me. You are my teacher and friend.

For this and more, I am grateful.
